The Bose Wave Series II is the second-generation Wave Radio/CD and Wave Music System. It uses a horizontal front-loading CD slot, a small green LCD display, and a wired remote/IR remote. Series II is the most common Wave system we service — most DISC ERROR, NOT PLAYABLE, and PLEASE WAIT problems on this generation are resolved with a CD drive exchange or control board exchange.
How to identify a Series II
The model number will be AWRCC1 or AWRCC2 (printed on the bottom label).
The serial number ends with the letters "AC." This is one of the easiest ways to identify a Series II.
If the serial number ends with "AE," it is NOT a Series II. An "AE" suffix identifies a Series III or Series IV system.
Both AWRCC1 and AWRCC2 are Series II models. The only difference is the cabinet color — they use the same internal parts and the same replacement components.
